Quick update.
School is going well for me, the new campus is much closer.
Nathan is in San Antonio until Thanksgiving for training, then home for a month, then deployed again.
The Bad news.
It looks like he won't be home again until Jan 2011, though nothing has been formally announced.
I have stayed busy with the FRG and had the opportunity last night to have a long one on one with the new 3rd Group GSB Commander. Very nice guy, heard all about his cat and his wife who has just had her first child.
Nathan was unable to get his motorcycle to San Antonio. He did manage to get his mountain bike there so he can get around Fort Sam Houston fairly easily. If this next deployment is in fact for one year then upon his return he will head straight to his PhD. He is still undecided on where he plans to attend school.

Flying Mailboxes
Last week Nathan had his first jump since returning home. It was at the St. Mere drop zone here at Bragg.
He jumped out of a tiny plane everyone was calling a Casa. Nathan referred to it as the "flying mailbox." Each flight only took about 8 guys up at a time, an extra two were in flight working as as safeties, so the day was pretty long.
The "flying mailbox"

I was out on behalf of the FRG, again, selling snacks and drinks for the guys. Someone had the genius to add popsicles to our little tent concession and we sold out by the end, it was a really hot day.
Being the FRG leader once again had it perks as I was able to accompany Nathan right up to the plane to take pictures as they were loading. I was escorted by the new Executive Officer to Nathan's unit. As he walked me over to Nathans chalk he warned me "Now, you may hear some "guy talk" once we get over there."
"I grew up in this culture, Sir. I'll be right at home." I told him.
If he only knew...
So, here are some photos of Nathan's jump. This was my first time seeing him jump so I went a little overboard with the camera :) Nathan would be calling this the "I love me" blog if he were composing it.

Nathan jumps!

After gathering up his chute, a long walk back to the unit
*Thank God for digital zooming*
