Signing off

The packers arrive tomorrow morning and we are hustling to get everything organized. The computer is about to be repackaged into it's original box to join us in our little truck and will hopefully be plugged in shortly to a wonderful little house waiting for us on the other end.

To all of our loved ones and family the Hoyt family wants to wish you a Happy Fourth of July!

Katy's Surgery

Here's a quick update on Katy's surgery. We arrived at 0810 and they took her back at about 0830 to prep her for the procedure. The preanesthesia meds took awhile to set in because she was pretty nervous, but they caught up with her eventually. All said, the actual surgery only took 30-40 minutes. The doc said he removed multiple polyps in her sinuses, but he feels they are mostly due to chronic inflammation. Overall, he said she has small nasal passages and sinuses, which is why the polyps caused so much trouble in the first place. He widened the opening to her sinuses to improve drainage. Post-op, she recovered well. The back of her throat and her sinuses burned initially, but that resolved over the first couple hours. They warned us to expect frequent bloody noses over the next 3-4 days with a fairly quick return to normal thereafter. She just can't bend over to pack this week:)

Friday, June 20, 2008

Our time line has shifted forward a bit. The movers will begin packing next Friday the 27th. Our ship out date is now the 30th and we have decided to break the trip up into two days driving. Not sure yet where we will be stopping at for the night. It looks like Katy will be having surgery on Monday, her sinuses have only gotten worse and the latest CT scan wasn't good. It will be a simple out-patient procedure though she will have to go under anesthetic. Things are getting pretty hectic as we prepare for our last week in Louisiana so please keep us in your prayers.
