Recent developments

Prior to his departure Nathan attempted to freeze a lump off of our Lab Nacona's eye. Though it worked to remove several other lumps on her skin it was unsuccessful on her eyelid.

He did this on our kitchen table at home and once Cona was up there waiting she knew something was up.

Another Vet and close friend of ours was nice enough to take of it for me this past Monday. He sedated Cona and removed not one but four lumps off of her left eye (he found three tiny ones on her upper lid that we had missed.

Here he is "gloving in" with Cona sedated on the table, she looked so calm and quiet... I wish she was always that calm :)

Thanks Dr. Jamie!

A recent addition to our household is a new TV

Our old TV was really too small for that huge space in the wall, am I right?!

I really had no choice.

I got a great deal because it was unpackaged and on display.

The downside?

No box.

Saran Wrap?! Seriously?!

Not even bubblewrap! Come on people!

AND it's raining?! Could this GET any worse?

Yes.

A salesman came out with an old box from a different TV that was smaller than mine but it covered MOST of it from the rain.

I guess that was supposed to comfort me in some way.

Not quite BestBuy... not quite.

I drove the 15 miles home going 20mph with my hazards on and taking turns at a snails pace. It was stressful. Once I got home I had to unload it myself because my trusty male neighbors were not home, OF COURSE! Then I got to lift it over my head onto the mantel above the fire place.

When my cable guy came to hook everything up he asked me how I got it in the house and onto the mantle.

I told him there are weight lifting requirements for Army wives.

After he tried to move the TV to hook it up I think he believed me.

One more deployment obstacle averted.

It's a beautiful thing.
