Leavin on a C17

No jet planes here folks.

Nathan officially shipped out tonight at 1930 (7:30pm).

I got to drive him as far as the last checkpoint before the tarmac. I was hoping to see him board the flight but rather I last saw him riding off in a truck caravan which included all of the dog handlers and their dogs.

It was all very anti-climactic.

The other wives and I sat in our respective cars until the trucks were out of site and one by one we all left.

My last picture of Nathan walking toward the trucks after saying our goodbyes.

Only eight months and you will be coming back to me.

This made me want to cry!!! You'll be fine and Nathan will be fine and it will hopefully fly by quickly. Call me if you need anything or want to talk!

You are an amazing, brave, sweet wife (and daughter) and all our hugs go out to you and your sweet Nathan. Great picture but the reunion one will be even better :)
