Over the past few weeks..

The holidays were great to us. We were able to visit both of our families and see several of our friends. We spent most of our stay with my family in Dallas and my parents place in Honeygrove, TX.

Nathan helped my father repair the dock on their pond

He also was able to help clear some brush on their property

His favorite part was fishing at the end of the day

When we finally arrived back in Carolina we began preparations for the upcoming deployment. All of his gear had to be packed and submitted for shipment the week we returned. It is shipped early and will be waiting for him when he arrives. He will be leaving next week sometime and unfortunately it looks as though he will be gone longer than the previously anticipated 6 months. It looks closer to 8 months now.

These past few weeks have had us hanging out with our friends here frequently mostly to play cards and sit around the fire pit outside drinking hot cider.

Today I was especially glad Nathan was around to see..

snow.

The dogs were initially unimpressed.

Our heater broke earlier last week but was repaired only to break again on today of all days. Thankfully a crew showed up in the afternoon and by 3pm we had heat again.

It only snowed a few inches but it was good powdery snow, perfect for snowballs and such which were thrown by both parties once we got outside. Of course, 'Cona had to play fetch in the snow which proved to be no trouble for her at all.
