Across the street from us live another couple about our age.
They have two dogs, one cat and no children... yet.
The husband is deployed and the wife, Carrie, is out of town this weekend.
I am watching their house and their pets.
They have a fence around their backyard but have also opted to use invisible fencing. There is a unit in the house that allows the dogs to access all areas of the yard and shocks them if they get too far.
Of course, the day Carrie leaves one of collars batteries runs out so off I go to Petsmart to buy more batteries for the shock collars.
Not being familiar with the collars, I take one off of the dog to take to the store with me.
I make it to the edge of her lawn, oblivious to the collar I am grasping tightly in my hand, before I get electrocuted for the next 10 feet.
I felt so stupid.
In other "duh Katy!" news...
Yesterday I tried to PAY my way onto post for about the third time. The guard says to me "Ma'am, we don't accept Mastercard."
How long has he been waiting to use that line I wonder?
